Excalibaaa by Zmann966 Excalibaaa by Zmann966
Fate/Stay Night
Saber's Noble Phantasm (epic pwn attack)

Though if you watch the japanese version (woot sub>dub) it sounds more like Ekuuusuukaleebaaaa!!! :XD:

And yeah she starts out with an invisible sword... lol So I kinda had to stick to the source material ;)

Anyway yeah, I wanna do Lancer's Gae-Bulga and Assassin's Four-Point Turning Swallow next... We'll see...

(P.S. Looks best on a dark background for all the effects)

This is where I turn my fangirl mode off and go srs biznus.

Looking at it, what I like best is the screaming ... and the animation on the burst of fire is simply amazing. And the slight shaking when you have it thrust the sword back. The bit of electric blue lighting emitting from the sword is nicely done as well.

Critique... hmm... Well personally if there was something provoking this outburst from the little guy... it would be a little more... cohesive.. :XD: Like what pissed the little dude off?

As for the shading itself...nice work. Especially in the backlash/backlighting from the fire bit.

Overall excellent work :D I do wish to see more stuff from you. Keep it up!
I didn't say I was turning my babyjaan mode off did I? :P

Slick! I'm liking the sense of infinite RAEG.

The impact is definitely there - whatever gets hit with that, is gonna stay hit. I'm not too familiar with whatever it is you're referring to, but even for those who don't know, it's still pretty appealing.

In terms of critique now...

I'm liking the sense of action, and the light effects from the energy-sword and how they play off the emote. You've definitely figured out how to make objects seem three-dimensional.

The only real problem I have with this is the movement of the energy-sword itself - the downward swing and explosion of energy looks fantastic, but I think you could do a little more with the shift forward as he's running, and the swing up.

When he swings the sword down, the sword appears to bend, but on the upswing, it stays straight and rigid. I think if you were to bend it, even slightly, it would better convey the speed and force of the movement, and make it more three-dimensional - it seems slightly flat right now.

The expressions are solid, and the activation of the energy sword is pretty sweet - I'm a sucker for blue lightning and weapons appearing with a flash. :D

All in all, it gets a 3.75 out of 5. Nice job!

Well of course it's Excalibur, I think everyone's heard of that sword.

But this is an emote based on Fate/Stay Night the anime.
From Japan.
Where they don't pronounce words quite the same way...

When King Artur uses the Noble Phantasm it's "ekusu.... caribaaaaa"
Hence the joke.
